Locum Payment Options

Flexible Payment Arrangements to Suit Our Clients

There are a number of payment options available for locum doctor work. Once your placement or shift is confirmed, the Dr Oncall accounts team will provide you with options on how you can be paid. Payment methods will vary between hospitals and states. A brief summary of each payment option is listed below.

Payment Via an Incorporated Company or Trust

If you’re a limited company or trust with an Australian Company Number (ACN) and Australian Business Number (ABN) you can be paid as a contractor. This payment option isn’t available for sole traders or people working within a NSW Health public hospital.

Payment via an incorporated company or trust means you’ll invoice Dr Oncall directly for your placement or shift. You’re also responsible for the payment of your own tax and super.

To ensure prompt payment, email your invoice and relevant receipts to your Dr Oncall recruitment consultant within 48 hours of completing your placement or shift. Please ensure that your ACN, ABN and bank account details are clearly detailed on your invoice.

Payment Via Dr Oncall PAYG

Dr Oncall can pay you directly via PAYG in any state except for work undertaken within a NSW Health public hospital. Payment via Dr Oncall PAYG is where Dr Oncall pays your tax and super and provides you with a payslip and payment summary. Please be aware that your confirmed hourly rate will be inclusive of your 9.5% superannuation.

To ensure prompt payment, email your invoice and relevant receipts to your Dr Oncall recruitment consultant within 48 hours of completing your placement or shift.

Payment Via NSW Health Public Hospitals PAYG

All doctors working in any NSW Health public hospital are paid directly via the Hospital Payroll PAYG. The hospital arranges payment of your tax and super and provides you with a payslip and payment summary. All doctors working in NSW Health public hospitals will be asked to complete payroll paperwork by our recruitment team upon confirmation of a placement or shift.

Other Payment Options

Some of Dr Oncall’s clients will pay doctors directly via a sole trader ABN, an incorporated company or trust or via their hospital payroll (PAYG). Payment terms using this option can vary from 14 to 60 days.

Payment via Geoffrey Nathan Consulting

Dr Oncall has an arrangement with Geoffrey Nathan Consulting for payroll management. This service can be utilised in all states except for work undertaken in NSW Health public hospitals. If you wish to use Geoffrey Nathan Consulting, please contact them directly. You’ll need to email your receipts and timesheets to Geoffrey Nathan Consulting, as well as your Dr Oncall recruitment consultant.
